You need to take a look at what type of dress you're wearing - good luck! I am having the same dilemmas with my formal although it's in the summer!

Here's an idea - a some hours before your formal night, go to a hairdresser (brng your dress, too if possible) and ask their advice on what to do, and they may be able to do it for you. it may cost some money but it's worth it! :D

It depends on what you are wearing and the consistency/ length of your hair. Also, what type of feel are you going for- sophisticated, funky, casual, young...? A low bun or ponytails with tilted fedoras/ wide brimmed tea hats were popular in the fall 2007 shows. Although, at a school dance I do not recommend donning a hat. A popular style right now would be the low side-ponytail (featured on Britney Murphy below)

It is also quite versatile. If you want to be young and chic, just cut some eye-grazing bangs, part your hair down the middle, keep it straight, and wear a knee-length or shorter trapeze dress with tights. Throw on some boots and possibly a short leather jacket and you will be good to go- and also a stand out at a high school winter formal.

For a semi formal you should wear a short dress, and i think teal or blue would look great on you and curling your hair would be very pretty. I think you look about fourteen.

i think you should try curling your hair...and probably a blue dress would work...or red...and then you look like you're 16-18......i don't know lol i'm bad at guessing ages...but yah try curling your hair =D

so my high school semi formal is coming up in a couple weeks and i really need a dress! im in grade 11. i was just wondering what color dress would look good on me? im 5'7", 115llb. i have long platinum blonde hair and blue eyes. kinda tanned but not really anymore lol. All l i know right now is that i want a short dress (above the knee). what color would look best on me. i dont want black. i was thinking maybe blue, red or gold. but im not sure. my boyfriend thinks red would look good...but im not sure. thanks so much for the help! :)

Hot pink, coral, salmon, or powder blue all seem really nice to.

But really you should just go to the store and see what kinds of dresses they have, because it depends how the dress looks on you and fits and stuff to, then you don't really care what the color looks like if the dress is amazing on you!

well i have a friend that has blue eyes and light blonde hair and she looks so pretty in bright blue and another good color would be coral!! But blue would be best because it will match your eyes hope it helps!!

I need help picking one out. I am 15 years old with brown hair, hazel eyes, and moderately fair skin. I wear somewhere around a size 0 to a 2 depending on if the brand runs small or not. I'm not looking for exotic colors or a lot of lace. Preferrably strapless and knee-length? Also, no Dillard's please. People always go there. Thanks so much!

dresses from macys and limited too are very pretty and age appropriate. she also just might fit into a 2 or 4 at nordstroms if you are willing to pay a little extra cash.

Okay, well...my dress is white with a thick black satin band above my stomach and it goes a little below my knees. My skin is tan and i'm 160cm tall (5' 3"), my hair is really dark brown and i have dark brown eyes. What colour make-up would go well with it?

No, white won't stand out too much... White will actually look really good on you if you are tan.. As far as your make-up is concerned.. I would wear a light pink eye shadow. You can never go wrong with light pink.. It's not too bright so it won't look like too much... Just make it blend... if you wear eye liner.. I wouldn't go with black.. I would use a copper tone to go with your skin.. you have enough black in your dress.. you don't want to look goth.. I would also go with a glossy pink lip gloss... Not lip stick!! Just get a light pink lip gloss that shimmers on your lips..

i am half asian and i find that light pinks or beige/brown or purple looks nice for eyeshadows. nothing too bright tho. it tends to look tacky. get a tan colour blush and black mascara. use liquid eyeliner as well to really accentuate your eyes. and no i dont think white will stand out too much. im sure you will look gorgeous at your semi. good luck!
