Do not over do the spike. It is almost a curly spike. If you have curls run some activator through them and let them go, you know like the Gotti brothers. that is defiantly sexy this season.

Depends on how high the spikes are. I wouldn't do it if your hair if very long. You should ask you date and let her tell you. The only one who's opinion you should care about is hers anyway right? Short spikes would look nice though, to me anyway. Let you date be the judge.

Depends on how spikey it is. If it's way out there I don't advise it but if its a good short lenght and you feel comfortable then why not? I see know problem with that. The main thing is that yor happy with it and won't spend the whole night being self- concious about your hair ;)

I think it'd be great- it probably will look even better with a nice tux. Just dont be like those dorks who show up with jeans on or something. ten to one, she's going to spend so much effort on looking amazing- guys should do the same :) Its all about that picture you can show your kids someday so make it count!

I think a softer style would be pretty for a formal. You are wanting to achieve an elegant look for a formal.

It's a good look for a formal event, a hairstylist I went to once even reccommended spikes as an evening look for me.
