Help with formal hairstyles?

I have natually thick straight hair thats goes about mid back. and i have no idea how to style it.

Im wearing a halter dress, an it cuts realllyy low in the front (but doesnt show anything) and is completely backless.

i have no idea how to style my hair! and my ball is tomorrow! :( any ideas or pictures would be helpful. :)

put your hair in a ballerina bun, but let a few ringlets stay in the front.

I think that new hair style with half up half down is cute. The key to that hair style is the teasing and the bump on top of your head. Then the rest is straight. If thats too trendy then I would curl hair or wear it straight... At my dances I would get an updo and it would be too fake. Since you have thick hair, its going to be really big and too much. I would wear it down curly or straight and be the envy of all the girls.
