How should I do my hair for our school's winter carnival dance?

The dance is semi-formal and I have a black sparkly halter neck dress. I would like something half up half down. (?) I have naturally straight brown hair. any ideas would be great.

PS the dance is in a week

PPS something i could do by myself or with a little help would be wonderful!

Wear it up in like a french braid/bun style. But get some shiny diamond like things to put in your hair - not acutally diamonds, but clear plastic things. Something to make it look like ice crystals in your hair (since it's winter carnival).

if your going to wear it half up half down, i would go with curls. Look at garnier hair styling products and pick out either a mousse or strong hairspray. Either use a a curling iron or curlers. If you get through curling it, and time is running short, and you arent satisfied, throw it up into a messy bun, and let a few curly strands hang down around your face.
