I will be in London for the West End premier for Lord of the Rings (the musical), and I was going to wear a tuxedo. I am currently growing out my hair, and am planning on having it just shorter than shoulder-length. What would be the best way to style it so that it looks appropriately formal with the tux?

Definatley pony tail. nape of your neck but please make sure you use hairspray, sounds girlie but you dont want bits flying about, and another must is the style of band you use to tieit back with, you use any kind to keep it nice and tight but then find a really nice piece of black satin to go with your tux, doesnt have to be a bow just to keep the look slick.

/never/ do a ponytail. way tacky and makes you look older than you are, especially with your length. it'll also make you look less professional. brush it back neatly with a part in the middle, like McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy, believe me, you'll look better.
