For blue eyes, use brown shadows and a lot of mascara. If you're putting the emphasis on your eyes, wear just lipgloss in a pinky or peachy shade (I'd go for pink shades).

Cocktail rings (the big gaudy ones) are really big now. I love them to pieces and they really say something about you (if you intend on getting a manicure, it's the best way to draw attention to your hands).

It sounds like your dress has a lot going on with it (with the pattern and the different colored waistband) so less it probably more with the jewelry. You could maybe throw on a necklace but I'd let the dress speak for itself.

Wristlets and clutches are nice for something like this. They don't take away anything from your dress and carry all the essentials.

Depending on your hair length, an updo of some sort is always considered more formal.

do you have a sephora locally? what about a macy's? Make an appointment to have your makeup done there. Its free, and they will know what to do based on YOUR face and YOUR skin.. more than we can on here.

I am a cosmetoligist but I cant tell you because I cant see your face.

As far as hair, loose updo's are really in right now, go to your stylist and ask for a sexy romantic loose updo, with some loose curls.

Out of interest..

Why is there a formal this late in the year?

The Grade 12s are finished, so I'm assuming grade 11 for you, but still aren't you finished school?
